Fourth-graders at Norup International School spread some holiday warmth this year with a blanket-making project to help the less fortunate. Wool Blankets The idea came from fourth-grade teacher Christina Schindler and her mother-in-law. The no-sew fleece blankets were made by cutting, Pink Baby Blanket ripping, tying and knotting.
Money raised by the children during an earlier "Pennies for Peace" program was Ispahan Carpets used to pay for materials. Norup is part of the Berkley Public School District and is an international baccalaureate school. Mark Auger, 9, was among the students participating. "It felt exciting to work on the blankets because they're going to a local shelter," he said. "I think it's important for them to get things they really need."
