Raschel Blanket,Baby Confort,Ispahan Rug-T Marquette women make blankets for soldiers

MARQUETTE -- The local Daughters of the American Revolution have made 18 fleece blankets for wounded soldiers in Raschel Blanket Afghanistan and Iraq. Monday, Baby Confort they packed them up Ispahan Rug and shipped them out.



Several members of the local Onagomingkway chapter gathered at Regent Melissa Wilson's home this afternoon to package the blankets of hope.



They will be given to wounded soldiers on battlefields and in hospitals to provide them with comfort.



The women say they are proud to serve the soldiers that protect them, and expect nothing in return.



"Well this is a project that we did not just to get thank you's from the soldiers but to offer them the possibility of having an envelopment of love and caring and support from people back home," Melissa Wilson, Chapter Regent.



A post card is attached to each blanket of hope containing the maker's address, so they can contact them when they are healed.
