How to Clean Vomit From Carpet

Anyone with kids or pets will probably be faced at some time with this unpleasant bit of housekeeping. Here's a way to clean up the mess and banish lingering odors.



Instructions:



Step 1: Remove as much of the vomit as possible from the carpet without spreading the mess.



Step 2: Pour dry cleaning fluid over the stain.



Step 3: Blot the stain with a dry, white cloth.



Step 4: Apply a small amount of mild liquid detergent to the stain.



Step 5: Blot again with the cloth.



Step 6: Flood the stain with water.



Step 7: Blot again with the cloth.



Step 8: Pour a small amount of ammonia over the stain.



Step 9: Blot again.



Step 10: Apply a little more detergent to the stain.



Step 11: Blot again.



Step 12: Flood the area with water.



Step 13: Blot one last time.
