How to Choose a Good Baby Blanket

Shape of the blanket - with the size the shape of the blanket matters too. Square blankets are not good for swaddling. A long rectangular shaped blanket is again not ideal for swaddling. Both these shapes are good for wrapping the crib though.

Material of the blanket - this is the most important factor in the comfort of the baby. The first thing about the material is that it should be a breathing material. The material should be warm and not incubating. It should be of the low allergy causing type. It should be soft on the baby skin and not causing abrasions and roughness to the baby skin. It should be easily washable. The material should also be lighter in weight and giving warmth. The material that covers all these criteria is the fleece. So fleece blanket is the best blanket for the baby.
